I've seen a few Sigma lenses on ebay which specify they are for Canon EOS cameras PRE 2003.
I thought if a lens fitted one EOS model it would fit them all.
What's the difference?

Is it as simple as that? My mate is using a lens on his 300d that he bought for a film EOS about 1998. And what about the D30 & D60? They were about pre 2003 and don't they take EF lenses? ---------------

It seems that some older Sigma lenses don't function properly on newer Canon cameras and need " chipped ". Does anyone know what this means or involves? yes. some lenses (the non DG models) are sometimes incompatable with newer cameras and have focus issues... the lack thereof i think... you can send some of them to sigma to have new "chips" put into them that allow them to operate correctly, but not every lens has this capability, and thus its better to avoid if possible. Mr. the Kid.
