Ok. I am buying my 30D friday off member here :) Cant wait.
now question. How much of a difference did you notice in teh viewfinder between those 2 cameras. Will i notice a nice brighter and larger one compared to my XT...I have looked at a 30D before a while ago but didnt have my camera to make a direct comparison.
I cant wait to get the 30D should be a very nice upgrade from my XT wich was a very very good camera for me.

I upgraded to a 30D from XT and one of the main reasons was the bigger viewfinder. Having joined the over the hill club my eyes aren't what they used to be. I'm very pleased and I can see much clearer now.

Really, the 30D is like the XT on steriods. If you liked it on the XT, you'll love it on the 30D. The viewfinder is better. The speed is better. The ISO at the higher range is better. If you mastered the controls of the XT, the 30D won't be that tricky. Some things have moved around (like from the back to the top), but the learning curve is very slight, and actually more ergonomic. The camera, being bigger, fits better in the hand, and has a more solid feel. I loved my XT; but after shooting with the 30D, I won't go back.

I went from an XT to the 30D. Its a totally different animal. I would never go back to the rebel series unless its a backup. Viewfinder is bigger, and brighter (pending on lens choice of course). The controls are much more user friendly, and the body feels 1000% better in my hands. I absolutely love my 30D.

I noticed the differences enough to sell my backup XT and buy a 10D.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I went from the XT to 30D a couple of months ago. I haven't looked back. It's an awesome camera. There is definitely a little learning curve with the 30D. The metering modes have left me a little frustrated at times. It's not the camera's fault -- but rather my ignorance.

I'm working on it, but it's been a challenge. All that being said, I've never regretted my decision for one minute.

I still have the XT but rarely pick it up. In fact, I'm loaning it to some friends for an upcoming vacation.

Congratulations.

I also went from a XT to a 30D. Love it, cannot go back to the "toy". My XT feels so dinky now...

I use both cameras regularly and possibly equally and the viewfinder is much bigger in the 30Dand appears to me much clearer and therefore more pleasant to use.

I really liked the XT until I held a 30D.
That was last summer.
You'll love it. :D

Viewfinder is noticeably bigger and the larger body of the 30D is nicer than the 350D body. Also, the 30D doesn't "feel" cheap- ie the magnesium body compared to the plastic body. The larger LCD is a welcome option as well.

You won't regret it. Don't expect huge picture quality jump. Do expect to enjoy overall use and functionality.
