Hi there.

No idea on places near your location I'm afraid :(

However, on the pics, I really do like the third (the sunset). The inclusion of the birds (geese?) really makes the shot stand out.

#1 doesn't say much too me. Could be almost anywhere and you have the horizon very near the middle.

#2 is a nice scene but it is a shame some of the highlights have blown out :(

Once again though, I really do like #3 :)

What kinda shots?

Around the casino is nice for city-scapes, make sure to get a picture of Hella's on the corner!

If it's nature your looking for, head west to the Chelsea area...north of Chelsea actually. A lot of lakes with nothing around them, hills, all sorts of good stuff.

Northville has some nice "town" shots to be had.

Kensington/Island Lake State Park has a lot of wildlife. (close to home for me, Howell.)

If you go up north...Beulah. M-22. It's the place.

Like NickSimcheck said. Any of the Metroparks around the area are really nice for photo opps. Here is a link to the home page:

Farther north you have many places to take pics. Traverse City for one and anywhere is the UP.
