you have two examples from us which highlight this, what part don't you understand?

Here are some soccer photos from AdamLewis: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=382967

Notice something about the exposures?
Yip.
It looks like shooting Av, with some EC dialed in, and using Exposure Lock will yield nice consistent exposures.
Not :rolleyes::rolleyes:

OK try this: Field sport, consistent light.

Me in M mode, say 1/1,000s @ f/4 metering for grey. Your in Tv mode at 1/1,000s.

We frame a subject, two opposing players: one white uniformed, one black uniformed.

My EV: 1/1,000s @ f/4. Your EV (likely): 1/1,000s @ f/4 (assuming the scene as reflecting average).

Now the white uniformed player leaves the shot.

My EV: 1/1,000s @ f/4. Your EV (likely): 1/1,000s @ f/2.8 - maybe even f/2.

How do you use AE lock or EC effectively (ie; so you don't miss the shot) to get back to correct EV?

Ok...Now Im answering this honestly here.

First off, what shot are you talking about? Just the person left in the frame? If they left unexpectedly, and you know what settings you need to be at, its just turning the back wheel to raise the f back up.

Secondly, I honestly dont understand ( mostly because Ive never seen it happen ) how having one player leave a shot like that will do anything negative to your image. If anything, youre getting a more accurate reading because the image has become more simple to the eye of the camera, right?

So elitist jerks like you can tear it apart for the sake of this sole argument while everyone else in that thread thought they were pretty good?

No. Not really.

Say good night every body. The last nasty turn has finished this thread.

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.
