Hello ppl
If you have any cheap bad plastic lenses that really mess up your photos I am interested in buying them. They don't have to be for Canon even, analog or digital camera lens makes no diffeence o me either. Let ne know.
PS. I am serious.

I don't have any crappy lenses for you. However, do post the results of your experiment!

Oh... Check your local thrift store... The one near my house has a dozen or more old P&S 35mm cameras for a couple bucks each. Is that the type of lens you are looking for?

In all seriousness you will have major problems finding any lenses with plastic elements.
I've heard of some cheapo fisheye adapters using plastic but all the ones i've seen are definitely glass.
In fact i think even disposable film cameras use glass lenses (?).In any case i would think they'd give far higher image quality than you seem to want.
The one thing that comes to mind that could be usefull -those ultracheap toy binoculars use plastic lenses and most certainly give dodgey image quality. To get them to work you would have to use only one of the front element groups and adapt that to your slr camera.Hold it in from of the camera until it comes into focus, then build a tube thing to keep it there and exclude side light

Is this a follow up to the Ice lenses I read about a few months ago?

Just a thought. how about a credit card size pocket magnifier. If the fresnel lens isn't bad enough by itself, bend it for a $1.99 lensbaby!

A quick experiment with the pocket magnifier about 3 inches in front of my Elan IIe body (no lens mounted) it focused on my computer screen at 3 feet. Close it in and it should kill a lot of the haze. Tilting the fresnel out of square to the focal plane seems better than bending it for distortion. Also note it seemed (through the 'finder) to be a 1:1 or more macro.
