Cable for flash

Can anyone tell me what cable I would need to connect a Phoenix DZBIS-112CII flash to my Digital Rebel XT if I'm using it off-camera on a Stroboframe? Or, does it even matter what flash I'm using or does the Digital Rebel XT always require the same cable?

I don't know that flash, but there are usually 2 ways.

if it uses ettl, you can use the Canon off camera shoe cord 2, which preserves ettl and connects to the hot shoe of the camera and teh hot shoe of the flash.

if not, then it gets more complicated, and you need more parts. you would need a Nikon as-15, a hot shoe to pc adapter, a sync cord (pc to pc), and a hot shoe to pc adapter for the flash.

this will only work in M mode for the flash, and requires a bit of working knowledge of how flash works.

or spend some bucks for pocketwizards

Here's what it says, so I'm guessing it takes the off camera shoe cord 2:

Phoenix DZBIS-112CII Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash (Guide No. 112'/34 m at 50mm) for Canon E-TTL II

If it's a shoe mount flash (which it appears to be) designed for Canon's E-TTL system (which it appears to be) then you need the Canon Off Camera Shoe Cord 2.

The only alternative that I know of is a cord made by Promaster, available at local camera shops in the US.
