If you cant afford the 600 how does the 300 with TC compare i know it will be slower but how much worse will image quality be???

Brandon unless you NEED a 300 2.8 for something in that case i would suggest you go for the 500 F4. much better for birds and nature than the 300 2.8, and much more bugetarily feasible than the 600 F4 Mr. the Kid.

I don't have the 600, but I have the 300/2.8 & 400/2.8. Both are stunning lenses, and I would expect stunning results also from the 500/4 and 600/4. I know that the 300/2.8 works very well with the 2X teleconverter, as does the 400. But, there is a bit of a loss in IQ with the 2X. I would say that the 300 + 2X is very good, while the 600 is excellent. Tom

Brandon
