Western, in the willamette valley...near Salem.
I don't know where McCall is, but I'll have to look...I'm definitely not above taking a little trip over to Idaho :)

it's two hours above Boise Salem I believe is towards the coast?.. either way most everything from Idaho to Oregon is a day drive...atleast I think so.. I used to take weekend trips to Portland all the time..

Well, then I definitely think we should plan something! My husband's got a jeep so I know getting over the mountains in the winter shouldn't be a problem....and your area is so beautiful in the snow. I'm going to have to look it up when I get home! We're an hour and a half away from Portland, so....that gives me a good general idea anyway! Too bad we couldn't get the other "girls" to take a trip up there...a winter carnival and a photo trip combined! Too fun!

I hate to tell you, but an August join date does not put you here 6 months. Closer to 3 months.

At first I was feeling guilty about amassing 3000 posts in such a short time, but while I was doing my work today, I was thinking about how much I've learned in the 6 mo. since I've been here (both lurking and since I started posting).

I've learned how to properly (and while it's still a challenge in some cases, I understand how to do it) expose highlights (thanks Robert Lay)...
I "found" my soul mate camera (thanks to the patience of all those in my first posts) in the 5D.
I've learned about exposure and proper equipment...and that spending tons of $ doesn't the photographer make....

I've seen types of photography that I never knew existed (thanks Duder and Lord V) and seen normal people (or mostly normal) make the ordinary things seem absolutely beautiful...(DazzleBea, Mike Bell, Buggbairn, Anthony J Howe, Gary Fairhead, Cat...and so many others that would take forever to mention).

and I've enjoyed the conversations and banter w/a bunch of great people (again, too many to mention but I'm sure you know I mean you ;) )!

So, yes, I'm a chatterbox, but thanks for the company!

This is what happens when your kids move out and you have too much time on your hands...and you're not a tv watcher...but you're right, I need a life  :D

Now here is an idea. Get out of your computer chair and go take some photos.

If I understand correctly (don't hold me for it) he has been lurking for quite some time too, and with his lurking time and posting time it adds up to 6 months?

I'm up for it! I have every Thursday-Sunday off. If you girls plan a date, count me in. You are both welcome here as wel . Yosemite and the Redwoods are beautiful in the winter. Fresno-Yosemite Int'l Airport is 30 minutes away from me. But I am up to go to Idaho or Oregon too. Think we could pull Liza away for a weekend, too?

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.
