I keep reading on threads about lens and Camera IQ's but I have no clue what it means.

Would someone please explain it to me?

Thanks!

Intelligence quotient obviously, anyone who thinks it stands for image quality is clearly nuts.

Screw the image quality, with enough intelligence I could figure out how to use Photoshop and use my brain to shoot like that guy who uses the 18-55, bigma and 50 1.8 :D to get great image quality with little $.

Me too :(. Some people are just very talented and artistic though, and that's something money can't buy.

Ah yes, the talent thing. I use to have some, but on one fateful night oh so long ago, I passed some of it to one kid, and a few years later the rest to the other. Kid #3 and #4 got shortchanged as they do not display any, at least photographically. My son clearly has the eye and has taken some beautiful pics and my daughter though much less technically astute has the artistic eye and her pics are stunning. I try to tell myself that it was the years of schooling and the degree in graphic arts, but I know better. She had it before she ever went to school. Leaves me jealous as I have this great setup and struggle, and she with her HP950 consistently produces stunning work.

I'm guilty of over-using IQ.

I am not an artistic person. I can't draw anything in real life (partially to do with my hand writing disability.) Years back when I went through all these hoops in the education system to get myself a compuetr to type on, I was tested by a psychologist, and believe it or not my logistical / mathematic side came out very good, but artistic and language side quite poorly. He couldn't give me an IQ because my brain was so inbalanced apparently.
