Thanks guys
Yep. The camera is the 1DMk II
Price for the 1D is $2500 AUS = $1912 US (3 month warranty)
Price for the 30D is $1900 AUS = $1454 US (12month warranty)

Get the 1D and consider yourself a lucky panda.

Buy the 30D and I'll pick up that 1D :)

Seriously., the large 1.3x sensor of the 1D will be beneficial for your shooting as well.

You did quite well on this one!

I looked at that one on Sat, and dropped the 11000th shot on it. It is in VERY nice condition. You will want more than a 512 FC I think. Head out to Leederville, they seem to have the best CF prices in town.

That has to be the buy of the year!

My personal choice would be the 1 series.... Always buy the best camera you can afford!

the 1dmkii outshines the 30d in almost every way. but it is bigger and heavier and requires a bit more from the user than the 30d does.

On the first day I asked the sales person if this was normal for them to sell second hand cameras in this level. She told that they did have 3 of them in stock and this was the last one and was told this one only had done 5500 activations.
I actually checked the number of activations and it shoved 9856 so she must have gotten it wrong. Did they have more than one for sale when you were in the shop?

5500 or 9856 isnt a big concern. the shutter are rated for 200000 shots.

No one mentined any others when I looked at it. The 9856 seems about right from the file names, 9846 is the file I have from it. The EXIF showed an 11K count. `Body Number' is 000372. That seems low, and I guess there would be some leading digits that are not shown.

Sounds pretty much like the same one. I was lucky this one didn’t go out the door. Even though I reserved the camera another sales person was about to sell it to another customer. I rang the shop prior to leaving home and was notified by sales person I dealt with 2 days before that the camera was about to be sold.

I reminded her that I had reserved the camera but was then told sorry. I then again informed her that I did offer to put a deposit down on the day but was told it was not necessary. She went away for about 3 minutes and I was then told the camera was mine.

Lucky I did ring beforehand otherwise it would have been sold.

I wonder how the other customer would have felt about this.

Buy the 1d. If you don't like it, sell it for a huge profit because you're getting a good deal ;)

It dies not... Focus is slower and the colors are not at all the same.
