Is there a compatibility chart around.

I currently have a 20D and am looking to get the 5D but wandered if the lenses I have and want to buy are good for both bodies.

EFS Mount = Crop sensor only

EF Mount = all Canon EOS bodies film and digital


Define good.

Sigma DG is full frame, but Sigma DC is not.

If they are Canon-branded EF lenses they will work on any EOS camera. If they are Brand X, they should mount, but autofocus and exposure settings are suspect, especially with older lenses. I hear tell that Sigma will re-chip some of their lenses, but some are not able to be upgraded.

with that 70-200 2.8 IS and 580EX its perfect time to upgrade

Thanks everyone.

I only have Canon EF lenses except for one Sigma lense I bought about a week ago. If it doesnt work with the 5D then no worries I can always sell it!!
