Hi All,

First Post Folks!

I have tranferred images from my EOS 400D, using the camera menu transfer screen display, and also via the computer EOS Utility.

My problem is that having successfully transferred the images to my hard drive, the UNPROTECED ones still remain on the camera.

Please how do I transfer, and remove, from the camera at the same time. Fed up individually removing.

Thanks

Alan

It is faster to transfer the images via card reader to the computer. Then place the card back into the camera and format it. All images will be cleared.

Hi Alan, and welcome to POTN. It's a friendly place and the natives are usually very helpful. (Especially when it comes to helping you justify spending more money on camera gear...)

I have a 350D rather than a 400D but I expect it functions the same in this respect. When you transferring images to the PC via the USB cable, what you're doing is copying the files rather than moving them. The easiest thing to do is then to erase all the images on your CF card in the camera. You can do this in one operation - see page 123 of your manual.

:) Thankyou Rhinotherunt & StewartR, I now have a better understanding of the procedure.

Cheers

Alan

PS Elements 5 (and probably others) has an option to download, verify the file transfer, and then erase from the source.

My vote would be to use a card reader and MOVE the images onto your hard disk. That way, you do not lose track of which ones you copied and delete others by mistake.
Also, you can browse the card and delete the duds without even downloading them.
