I am a photography hobbist, but recently I found a few models who are willing to post (outdoor, non-nude). We agreed to do TPCD. What are some leagal issue I need to pay attention to? Is it common to ask for a release? What are the typical terms of such a shoot out? Is there any template online I could print out and have them sign?

B&H sells some forms. you do need a model release.

remember that for a contract to be legal, they need "sonsideration:. Consideration can be prints, a cd, lunch, a dollar whatever, but if they are not compensated, the contract is void.

Thanks! I will look into that. So if I give a CD of JPGs to the model it should be OK, right? Does a typical contract allow me to do whatever I want with the photos (legit for sure, not erotic related). Is there a guide some where on this forum?

I have a release that says "for the sum of 1.00 and other considerations". Like Corey said, this makes it all legal. This could change by jurisdiction.

In addition to the model release, I would do a letter of understanding with the parties basically outlining in plain english what each party is providing and receiving.

You can see more on this subject from a previous post of mine here

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.
