My guess is that they'll get a good pat (smack) on (to) the head, depending on his temperment at time of awarding. Runners-up may receive awards that they can't fully unnerstan and/or decipher. Everyone else will be rejected. That does, after all, seem to be the popular thing to be in this thread ;).

Webb, the first one is sort of experimental....Connie might like it.
The second one I really like.....an extraordinary composition that presented itself spontaneously.

agree they seem like an unlikely pair but I suppose they compliment eachother... kind of like peanutbutter and chocolate... ;) ;)

We give each other compliments on occasion, on some others I felt it behooved me to sensitize the lad. That's a part of my mentoring and his development. However, we need not complement each other because we are both kinda whole, complete and immutably defficient in our own ways.

Okay, more like a tennis match. You two play off eachother unusually well... In theory with my slight understanding of Dave and my growing confusion of you... (when are you gonna explain the importance of pixel peeping?)... I would think that the two of you would be a little like whiskey and tomato juice... but, that's not the case... just remarking how unique I find the two of you... but both appealing in your own individual ways... ;) ;)

Codex, your Yankee sense of "competing/succeeding/winning" seems to be consistently inhibiting your ability to see this thread for what it is........which is 90% theatrical fun, frolick and mirh.......only 10% photography exchange. Winning and losing photographycally has no real meaning nor currency here......those that will have the heartiest chuckle out of this are the ones to reap the real benefits from these proceedings.

Sari, I promise I will, just that I am getting a bit indisposed now.
However, I must tell you, regardless of Condyke's acceptance/rejection, your images posted in this thread have been very good, collectivelly as well as individually. You have the courage as well as the touch, I think....so you obviously ought to be a good photographer.
Just do not let yourself be led astray with the lelephoto zoom selection......talk to people who use telephoto's a lot, different kinds, and I think you shall see that the 100-400 always comes up as an allaround optimum telezoom.

I have many months of hoarding my quarters before it's time to choose a telephoto... as to the decision I will make it when the time for departure is a little closer... But, as long as you don't gloat too much as of now i'm leaning towards the 100-400.. But, time will tell what the ultimate decision will be.. and the compliment sounded sincere.... so, i'll take it as such. Thank you.... as for courage, not soo much.. more a disregard for people's reactions to my presence.. i've never encountered anything to make me think twice about what i'm doing... and I have the uncanny gift (or maybe it's too much time standing behind a bar) of talking myself out of just about anything undesirable... as for talent.. well, an eye is nice, talent is good to hear, but without time It will turn into the guitar playing fiasco.. where I say, I could have been a musician if only...... I rather like the idea of spending the years with the camera accompanying me... A life documented.. or some equally 'tupperware' comment... which I will do my best to spare you... ;) ;)

I assure you that tongue was firmly in cheek when I gave my assessment :p (as you can see, it is now having an out-of-mouth experience).

petey darlin' I have asked many times to have the point be explained to me... so, what the heck is it?.. it seems to me that the reason behind it is to test out your gear and not your abilities... and if so I'm sure that you're gear exceeds mine.. how could it not?.. my kit is your lunch money... but, i'm willing to play if you explain the (why?) of it....
