Don't laugh. It was actually a good camera (at the time). I think I paid $999.00 for it brand new. Amazon has them for $189.00

I think my last p&s camera I owned before shooting with a DSLR was the Canon S500.

My P&S camera before the 20D was a Konica-Minolta Dimage A2. I had it for about 3 months before i left it in my car that leaked when it rained......i bet you can figure out the rest. But i think of it this way....if that camera wouldn't of gotten wrecked i wouldn't have an SLR. So it was kind of a blessing in disguise!!

That's part of the reason (although very small) that I went that way. Mostly it was also because, back in the days of the 350D, 20D, D70, D70s etc I felt that Canon DSLRs offered the cleanest images at high ISOs.
