Christmas in November... 30d or 5d with 70-200 2.8IS

Looking to upgrade. The 5d would be pushing it but 30D... right now! Looking for some feedback. Talked with a work associate who purchased the 5d about a year ago... he surprised me by saying that although a great camera... he got it because he had the cash and said he would of been happy with the 30d. He has sold his photos to corporate accounts , mainly landscape. I am an enthusiast ... not professional and shoot wildlife... sports, urban still. What do you think? I read this forum daily and would apreciate any comments. Thanks

If you aren't shooting tons of lowlight shoots or need huge resolution, the 30d would be more than fine and you'd save some cash to get a better mid range zoom.


through a link I provided in the marketplace from B&H, and after double rebate, the 5d would be had for ~2150. give or take shipping/taxes etc. Thats pretty good. You would need to order another lens or flash (430ex is the cheepest qualifying product), but you get a souble rebate on it, and you could then resell it for around what you paid.
