I'd like to know what the wireless remote shutter options are for the 30D. I know the 350 and 400D has infra red. So it can use the RC-1,5.

From what I know Canon only offers the VERY expensive LC-5.

Any cheaper options available?

I require it for the standard family portrait photos which can include the photog (me)

The normal 10 sec delay wont work with a 18month old :(

Canon gave us the shaft, only the Rebels get the good cheap wired remote.

The 30D must use the pricey wireless system, sheesh.

I noticed the 10m expention cord(ET-1000N3) for the RS-80N3 wire remote is $120-, what a joke.

Yeah, the only options I've seen are expensive. I use pocketwizards to do it, and it's not cheap.

The only other 'cheap' wireless solution would be a friend or neighbor. Set up the shot, tell 'em when to hit the shutter, buy them beer (or whatever) afterwards.
