A New Attempt

I was trying something new... I took about 12 shots of the same spot at f/5.6 and different shutter speed values. The goal was to merge the images to hdr. Well what I got was not what I was looking for. So I tried combining what I got with the original image, and I got this:

Mmm. Obviously you can't overlay the separate shots to HDR or anything similar, because all the leaves and small branches are moving in the wind. Having said that. I think there is a potentially interesting treatment lurking in here somewhere. What would happen if you use the RAW converter to equalise the exposure on each of your shots (insofar as you can), and then overlay them? I'd expect to see the tree trunks very well defined and the leaves in motion. (Obviously you'll want to get rid of that horrendous artefacting, whatever you do.)

I used to take shots like this when I was winding on a film. I have no idea why they used to print them.
