Any advice would depend upon the access you have.

Regular ticket for the stands doesn't provide much at this track without some major telephoto ability. As they come into turn 1 is pretty good with the front stretch, stands and palm trees. Try and get part way around the corner.

If your stuck up the stands, into or out of any corner would provide some activity.

Stretches are pretty good if you want to practice artistic focus styles.

Pit, Garage and track side access would give you many good spots to shot from. Remember, for safties sake: DO NOT CHIMP.

Good luck and enjoy. I'm jelous as I have not been there for a couple of years now.

I have full press photography access.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the term "chimp" - what does that mean?

Wow, are you in for an experience:D :D :D :D

To start, chimping is looking at your display after taking a picture. DO NOT DO THIS. Safety is the most important thing, and you cannot watch the activity around oyu if your staring at the lcd display of your camera.

Chimping during any activity in the garage, pits or track will get your pass pulled and get you tossed from the infield. For your own good.

Garage and pit pass, which will pretty well give you trackside access on the outside as well. It will not give you access to the camera cages built into the fence, that is for the press photogs only (different credential required).

Still. You are going to love it.

Get there early and be dressed in full pants and closed shoes or you will be denied access. You cannot see this fuel as it burns, that is why the full clothing requirements. No exceptions.

Do not attempt to photgraph engines in cars in the garage, but feel free to shoot just about anything else.

STAY out of the way of the pro's in the pits and follow they're example of shots.

Take lots of memory and batteries.

Have fun.

BUT BE SAFE. This is a very dangerous place to be.
