Thinking about adding a grip but when my flash is on the camera is on the verge of being too heavy to walk around with. Do you guys remove the grip to save weight OR once its on, it never comes off?

I've taken it off once so far before I had a bag that was big enough to hold it and I really needed to take it somewhere in a bag. Gear Listhttp://www.codastudios.com.au

I specifically only bought a hand strap for one of them, so I could take the grip off the other when I wanted to go light. I have only removed that grip one time, and I wasn't even using the camera, someone else was. I like the shutter button and the balance. I feel too awkward without it. Thank you,
