On if I'm taking the Velocity 9. Off if I'm taking the Domke bag. I like having it with my 70-200 f4. I think it balances better. More on than off, I guess.

I have taken it off once to see what it was like before. Needless to say the camera didn't fit my hands properly. Maybe I need a bigger camera. captainbk wrote in post #2268683 Always on.......hauled it around Disney for 3 days....never a problem and it is impressive to amateurs and professionals alike. I took my camera to a Cadet activity. One of the staff usually brings his camera (300D). He took a look at mine and was quite impressed by "that black thing" on the bottom of my camera. I ordered the grip when I returned. I use it with 2 batteries, and on my vacation, only recharged once in 13 days of shooting. I love the grip and would never remove it from my camera under normal conditions. -Prodigal Son
