Big thankyou to everyone for all of your comments.

Boondall is definitely a wonderful resource. While I was there I also saw galahs, cockatoos and what, I believe, looked like some kind of kite. These were all in flight high above me though and I was either too slow with the camera or just too far away.
Oh, and of course the countless number of noisy miners.

So you're still around, Helen. Haven't heard from you for a while. Studying hard no doubt.

Hi Nick,
I really like #1 Sharp with good exposure, nice pose and good BG, it even has the cute factor. My only nit, it is a little too tight in the frame.
Regards,
Clare

Thanks, Clare!
Where would you add the extra space?
#1 is cropped (in fact I think they all are) so I can have more room on the left and right but I think the height is full frame.

Thanks, urbandancer. The kookaburra was probably the bird that let me get the closest to it.

1 & 6 are wonderful compositions.. I wish the exposure had let us see more detail in 5.
All great shots!

Nice series, with the first one being particularly good.
