More indoor photos (some kinda Canon horse&pony show again) with the 50 f/1.2 on DPR forum.
If I was told those were taken with the 50 f/1.4, I would have believed it.
I suspect it is mostly (if not only) the innocents as well as lunatics who buy lenses for their look and L build. However, how large can that dunce market segment really be ? Enough to sustain a continuing production of an expensive lens which performance-wise might turn out to be merely a 1/2 stop faster version of the 50 f/1.4 ?
It will be interesting to see all that unfold. The lens should be out by mid December

....give Castleman a week or so and I betcha he'll be posting his test results by Y/E.

Just checked them - paper-thin DOF, that's for certain. A few in-focus ears and OOF faces.
Except for the longer shot later in the thread, it renders background blur very nicely.
It'll be interesting to see how it measures up in terms of color, contrast, flare, and distortion when compared to its' "peers".
It's worth seeing what William Castleman and possibly others have to say about the lens.
