Hello everyone,

Just thought I'd introduce myself before anyhting.
Im pretty much a beginning photographer with not really a lot of experience. My interest in photography started in high school when i enrolled in Photo. I showed a lot of interest and my teacher insisted I join a photocamp run by the san francisco chronicle and national geographic. This turned out to be a great experience which culminated with one of my pictures making it into the feature story in the sf chronicle as well as a small gallery with various other students photos enlarged by National Geographic--3 of which were mine. I knew then that photography was what I wanted to do for a carreer. I'm now a photo student at San Jose State Univ. in Ca. Shamefully, I have not been active with my photography as much as I sohuld be, as I am doing mostly GE courses. I found these forums on a simple google search in aticipation of a 350D that I will be acquiring next week. I'm getting the XT, 18-55 kit lens, as well as a battery grip and an extra battery for 600 USD. I also have a Canon AE-1 and a Canon AE-1 Program, 2 50mm 1.8 FDs a 35-105mm FD [newer one, although i know these things are pretty old still]. I also found a .42 [or something like that] teleconverter which widens my 50mm. I also have some random camera's like a Minolta Maxxum QTsi, a Lomo FishEye, and a folding Kodak Retina. I've got so many camera's and yet I haven't taken pictures in months--part of the main reason im switching to digital--it's just so much easier. Well that is my comprehensive Bio, sorry to bore anyone who actually read through it all! But I hope to learn from this forum and all of you!

Congratulations on the new camera :)

Digital does change a lot of things, but the fundamentals remain the same. Enjoy the learning process!
