I have an EF 70-210 f4 that I bought years ago. Does anyone know how this lens compares to the 70-200 f4L?

Not even close.
The other 70-210 f3.5-4.5 has similar and maybe a little faster AF as the current 70-200/f4 L. Image wise, it's good for but not the same as the L
