Does anyone have a digital copy of the 430 ez manual? My 1dmark2 is in the shop and I have found myself tinkering with the 10d and 430ez. I feel like I am not using the flash to its full potential, and a manual could really clear up a lot of confusion.

You know that the 430EZ is not compatible with EOS Digital cameras, right?

Hi!

How can you trigger an 430sz (alas in manual mode) with a 20D?

Thanks Rene for the reply. I actually tried doing it yesterday. I tried to trigger the 430ez on manual with its corresponding off-camer cordII (which works a treat on the EOS5 ), connecting it to the hot shoe of my 20D. It did not work.

My idea was to start using this flash as an autonomous flash unit (autonomous meaning battery-powered and hence no electrical wires) with the 20D, on manual, just as in the studio. I am pretty disappointed at this result.

Thanks just the same

Off camera cord 2 should work. Hot shoe adapter2 (the older extention cord) shouldn't.
Does the flash work on camera?

In fact, I used what is called the 'Off-camera shoe cord'. I tried out the link and it is the manual for the 430ez, which I of course have. On the manual, this cord is indicated by number 5.

So probably, this attachment really works just like the 'hot shoe adaptor', as Rene suggested.

Thanks for the help, just the same.

If it is the Off Camera Shoe Cord -2 it should work... Probabely there's been a '1' version before, but I don't know about that...
