Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

I don't know why, but I actually really like this image.
not sure if you intended it, but it's so simple, and the soft blue silhouette really gives it a tantalising feel. That shooting star trail is a massive bonus as well and it's perfectly framed.
Lol, I guess then I DO know why I like it!

Wish I could see a larger version?

I love that shot (a little small here maybe) but I thought I would tell you guys about "iridium flares". These things look like slow moving falling stars, but photograph really well! You can use this (external link) site to plan for the next one in your area and get some neat shots on a regular basis. A couple of times I have been outside (letting the dog go potty and looked up t find either a streak going all the way across the sky, or what looks like a slow meteor and upon checking this site it waseither the International Space Station (twice now) or an Iridium Flare. An iridium flare is simply the reflection of the sun's rays off of an "Iridium" (external link) satelite, but they have plotted when this happens in different areas based on the angle of the solar panels.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread, just thought you guys might wanna check it out

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the comments. The original picture was too large so I added the smaller one to fit into the thread.

Heres the LARGE (external link) version for you to check out.

Thanks for that link Michael - quite useful. I can honestly say that it is a meteor as there were tons of them that night but as I said I didnt think I caught one. I was well chuffed when I saw it as this picture is my only third time at night photography.

Awesome shot! I didn't intend that it may not be, just that all of us may have a way of "planning" these accidents in the future if we wanted to :). I have not taken the time to go out and setup a nice scene like you did, but I may be inspired soon...
