Microsoft is testing some Office Live product and gives out free domain registration. Don't know how long it will last but hey it's free.
If you have a domain name out there that you want to reserve and don't want to pay, here's your chance. Or register some wacko names that you always dreamed of, like www.ilovecowballs.com
or www.iloveLlenses.com... not that I dreamed of nor registered them
