I am a happy man with my current lens collection.

However, tomorrow I will order the EF 135MM L from Amazon.com using my AMEX Rewards program.

Why? Because AMEX has offered me a 30% discount if I use my points to make the purchase. So I get the lens for an effective price of $602 bucks, pick up an additional $100 rebate on my 30D and $50 in rebates on the lens

How can I refuse???

Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!
7D, G5X, 10-22MM EF-S, 17-55MM f/2.8 EF-S IS, 24-105MM f/4 EF L, Leica D-Lux 7

I have good coverage all the way from 14mm to 400 (and beyond, with TCs). I will buy the 50mm f/1.2L when it comes out any day now. I guess I'm at the point where I don't really need anything, and am generally buying the things I just want.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

If you could complete your "core" kit... What are you missing?

For Me.

5D (Not a lens, but I want a full frame camera too)

TS-E 24mm f/3.5L
EF 85mm f/1.2 II
EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro
EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS

EF 1.4x II Extender

I don't even what to do the math.. it would make my wallet sick. :D ;)

I can't think of any other lenses that I would possibly "need". I don't shoot real Long distance, so 200mm+ would be useless in my "core kit"

My wallet is very sick. Check this out below, all purchased since 7/29/06.

Couple more primes probably wouldn't hurt. Upgrade to 50mm 1.2L and some long telephoto primes.

Canon EOS 5D also Mk III, 24-70L, 85 IIL, 24-105L, 70-200 f/2.8 IS L, 180 Macro L, 100 f/2.8L IS Macro, 100-400 L IS, 8-15 L Fisheye f/4, 16-35 L, 50 L , TS-E 24 L, 600 L, Extender 1.4X & 2X II, Speedlite 580EX x 2, MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite, ST-E2, Angle Finder C, RS-80N3 Remote Switch, Focusing Screen EE-D, BG-E4, Manfrotto 458B Neotec tripodw/Acratech 1155 GP Ballhead.

135/2 and 300/4IS. Then I'll be happy. Well. Yeah, then I'll be happy. Wait, are we just wishing? Cause then I want a full-range FL of 2.8's, too. 16-35, 24-70 and 70-200. THEN I'll be happy. Oh, and a 10-22 also. And a 200/2.8. Then I'm sure I'm done. Until we start talking lighting...

Unfortunately, they do not make the lenses I am missing.

50-200 f/2.8 IS EF-S, about the same size as the Sigma 50-150 f/2.8, the same quality as the 17-55 f/2.8 IS EF-S and 77 mm filter, the same as 10-22 and 17-55.

100-500 f/4-5.6 IS EF-S with 77 mm filter and image quality compatible with the 17-55. This would end all discussion about whether the Canon 100-400 or Sigma 50-500 was better.

EF-S 1.4x and 2x teleconverters

Set of 3 Kenko extension tubes for EF-S lenses.

I do not want a 5D, but would like an EF-S camera with the image capabilities of the 5D and the frames per second and weather sealing of the 1D Mk II N.

"What lenses are you missing? "

I just checked my bag, all lenses are there, none missing. ;)

I'd like the 400 2.8 but will settle soon for the 300 2.8.

300 or 400/2.8
85/1.8 (I might actually get this one soon :) )
35L.
Maybe a 135L? If I don't get the 85 and keep saving...

If you notice, my "core" is covered by the cheapo-depot lenses that came with the camera (18-55 and 75-300). So, my dream is (as if this will ever happen):

24-70 f/2.8L
70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM

And a 30d in my dreams, but more realistically a 10d or maaaaaaybe a 20d if I can stretch my cash thin.

But hey, I'm really glad for what I've got, which is way more than most have. It's show me that skills are always more important than gear [/cliché]

50mm 1.2L is on order... I'd also add the 135L, 300 2.8IS, 15mm...

For me (in the exact order I plan to get them)

1) SIGMA 10-20MM 4-5.6 EX
2) CANON EF 85MM/F1.8 USM
3) SIGMA 105MM F2.8 EX
4) SIGMA 50-500MM F4-6.3 EX DG

I have a 1.4 X II on order...:-)

Hope it isn't a Canon 1.4x II....you don't have any lenses that it will work with.
