Mine is an SD450 that I take with me everywhere. I like my gears, but when I am around family and friends, they always seem to freeze up when I have my 1D or 20D, so I always have my P&S during family gatherings and stuff.

With the Canon it is usually a planed event in that I am going somewhere to take pics. I use my Nikon 8700 most other times. It is much smaller and does not need any additional lenses so I can drop it into a coat pocket or my wifes purse. It takes great pics and as long as I work within the parameters of the camera it matches the Canon in quality quite well. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Boy, I get the same thing. As soon as the Canon comes out, folks just scatter. It seems that there is something intimidating with a SLR and a P/S somehow is more acceptable or just ignored. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
