17-40mm L (sorry to contribute to the numerous threads about it)
For the fast two weeks I have been in two minds, it was either the 10-22 or the 17-40m. The following reasons convinced me to go with the 17-40 (and maybe these will help others who are having the same 'problem' I did).
- I was worried it may not be wide enough, but this guy's gallery soon convinced me otherwise: http://robertmekis.deviantart.com/gallery/
the 17-40 is 1mm wider than the lens he used. (I even nearly ordered the kit lens :lol
- The 'L' factor, should help retain its monetary value if I ever need to sell it, I think more so than an EFS.
- I will not find many situations where I would need to use the 10mm of the 10-22 as I don't do much traveling. The 17mm will satisfy me for the few landscapes and I can use the 30-40mm for more every day stuff.
- Build quality and weather proofing, probably not an issue but for my piece of mind.
Can't wait to receive it
