Is there anyway to make the histgram come up after taking the picture instead of the picture it's self. I have read my manual but can't find a way. As it is right now you have to veiw the picture (which takes forever when using RAW) and then push info. I am doing a wedding this weekend and won't have time for that between shots.

If you go into the mode that lets you view your shots just hit display until the view shows you the picture along with the histogram and then leave it in that view mode. When you take your shots and get your preview it'll display the preview in that mode. :)

That didn't work- it went back to just the picture as soon as I took the next shot. :(

I can veiw the histogram when I do that. What I want is to veiw the histogram immediatly after taking the picture- without having to push play.

Go into your menu and then choose the review option and then one of the settings that you can default the camera two is Review(Info) and that will show the histogram each time a shot is taken.

Does the XT have the same option? All I see in the menu is a setting for the review time.

Yes - your XT should have a similar setting - usually denoted by the (Info) in brackets wording.......

Well I don't see that as an option anywhere and I can't find anything in the manual either.

1. Press the play button to review a picture.
2. Press the info. button right below the menu button (twice I think) until you see a small picture preview and histogram together.
3. Half-press the shutter button to exit out and save that setting.

Also, make sure in the menu settings under the PLAY tab that you have 2, 4, or 8 sec. review enabled.

Thanks. Apparently I misunderstood what the OP had asked. I was looking for just a full screen histogram without the image being displayed. I assume that's not possibe.

You are correct - that is not possible. Besides, I find it to be very useful for gauging correct exposure to see both the shape of the histogram AND the blinking highlights, if any.
