I am considering the 100 Macro because I need a little more working distance than the 60-s for close up work. I already have a 135L/2 and was wondering how it does with the addition of extension tubes? Has anybody used this combo and compared it to work with the 100/2.8 macro? Any thoughts on relative merits either way?

for any real serious macro, get a macro lens. I have tubes and have used this combo, it just is not as easy as a dedicated macro lens. AF and AV change dramatically when you tube. View finder can get dark too.

Even if you have 1,2 or even 3 macro lenses... Would you say its still worth having a set of tubes in your bag? Im trying to decide if I should keep or sell mine.

I used my tubes with a 70-200 f/4, but I was going to sell the tubes to get a 100mm macro, but I dont know if its still worth keeping the tubes.
