the 50 1.8 mkII is a must for any budget photographer. w/ 1.8, you can shoot indoor w/out flash, learn DOF control, makes a decent portrait lens too.

For architecture, the Tokina 12-24mm is the best but it has it's price. A universal zoom is only good for universal pictures, you can make great ones but don't expect the great shot for all occasions. BTW, my best shot so far I took with the 18-200mm.... Two bodies left, some "soso" lenses, and still a lot of gear.....
