This is the first I have heard about this viewfinder replacement, I guess you would call it.
It is supposed to make it lighter and easier to see through the viewfinder. B&H has it...and says it is for an EOS 1 or 3. I don't know if a Rebel XT comes under those catogories. Anyone know? And does anyone use the Beattie and what do you think of it? I would like to beable to see clearer through the viewfinder on the Rebel XT.
Thanks! Margie

Here is the quote on it from B&H web-site...
"This Beattie Intenscreen is an interchangeable focusing screen compatible with all Canon EOS-1 series film and digital cameras, as well as the EOS-3 camera. This Matte/Fresnel screen features a horizontal split image for manual focus assist, AF brackets, and is ideal for general use with bright lenses, f/5.6 or brighter. The lack of contrast and image definition with some original focusing screens can make it difficult, if not impossible, to bring a subject into sharp focus. An Intenscreen will increase image brightness by 1 to 1.5 stops, making it easier to focus on a distant subject, especially when using a telephoto lens. "
