^^^ Nice !

You folks have some nice looking hummer species. This has been the worst year i can remember for hummers here in South Texas for us. Must be the 50 yr. drought we are experiencing. The normal Ruby-throats we get have not returned from their Northern nesting grounds but should start arriving in late July or early August.

Regards, ;)

Joined the ownership club! I had reservations about this lens. It doesn't have IS and its "slower" than the 500mm 4.0 I had rented... but man, talk about nice classic sharp images.

This is just a snapshot at lunch at work - I got the lens and popped it on immediately.

JonK, you will enjoy the lens and learn fast that early morning & late afternoon ISO 640 to 800 will be the norm to keep your SS up around 1/400 for decent pics. Plus its tough for me not to use the monopod on smaller bird size subjects out past 30ft. to insure a higher keeper rate.

Regards & Have Fun, ;)
