Hi everyone,

I currently own a 30D +kit and 75-300III and love the 30D to bits. Firstly i am upgrading my lenses in a few weeks one of them being 16-35L and ill be covered up to 200mm (all L lenses) as i am planning on going to FF or 1.3X crop.

My 30D will be my backup body.

I want to get better resolution (maybe I'll see it with my new L lenses) i was thinking of getting the 1D MKIIN even though it has 8.2 MP because I have noticed great resolution on it.

Does having larger pixels than the 30D give better IQ? I am thinking it does.

Would i notice a difference in IQ over the 30D with the MKIIN

I want the 1D for the speed, body, build also as IQ.

Or would i be better of waiting for the 1DsMK3 or 1DMK3N?

No the resolution is not higher IIRC, but the IQ might be as pixel density and noise might be less. I am guessing as I have seen no data to confirm or deny. I am happy with my N for IQ and all the 1 series brings to the table.

N is not made to compete with the 1dsmk2 or 3. Different beasts all together. I sold my 1dsmk2 and am waiting for the 1dsmk3. I plan on running the 1dsmk3 and N together for their unique abilities. Come on Canon, so I can sell this 5D! :)

Buy now whenever you have the money. Who knows when the next 1D series comes out. the 1dMKII /1dMKIIn are both very capable.

Ohh, i know. Glass is more important and 30D is more than capable. My point was, whenever you are ready to buy, you don't need to wait.
Heck, the original 1D is still very capable and better than most stuff out there.

Um, wasn't there confirmation of several new cameras coming in the spring? I'd hold off. I read from a reputable source (lost the link) that there's a successor to the 30D (40D?) and new FF's or 1.3's coming. The FF's or 1.3's are supposed to be available in dual versions - low/high models... all with the new dust, Digit III and higher res. Does anyone else know about this? I don't think it was DPR or FM... I don't remeber the site... ???

edit: this is the same info I heard somewhere else: https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=2001744&postcount=1

edit: I found it... http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24045 (external link)
