That first shot is stunning, but the vignetting doesn't do much for me.
The others look good too, but the colors on the first one are astounding. Very nice job!

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

I agree with Air, the first is the best.
Really like the last as well, with just a touch of light in her hair. Excellent
#3 lets you down though. Its soft and I find my eye wandering around the photo looking for a point of focus.

They are awful...you should never post here again! How dare you post such awful shots for your first post!!!

Ok, ok...just kidding. No, really!! :D

I like the second one a lot. It reminds me of the beach near me, and it actually looks like I shot I would have taken. ;)

The colors in the first one are beautiful! The boat and dock are nice, but the railing kind of spoils the shot for me. I'd be tempted to crop the photo just above the railing. Yes, you'd lose the boat and dock, but I feel the loss of them isn't as bad as having the railing in the foreground...IMO.

Welcome to POTN, I think I was at 50+ posts before I plucked up the courage to post my work for everyone to see. Good on you.

Lovely job on the photos.

#1 for me either lacks detail in the foreground or missed them out entirely. Colours are fab, bery surreal

#4 had the Wow factor for me. on second inspection, the sun appear to be a bit odd shaped. Maybe a bit of flare going on (don't know).

All in all 4 great shots.

thanks for all the comments everyone, its greatly appreciated.
the first shot was in upstate NY at Thousand Islands and when i saw the pink sky i thought it was picture worthy so i brought out the camera and tripod

then next 3 shots were all in Avalon, NJ and i didnt use a tripod so they are not as sharp as they could be.

and yes, the sun looks a little bit odd shaped in the last one and thats because of a flare.

thanks again everyone for all of the comments

Welcome to POTN!

Hmm......One suggestion I have for you is that I believe the last picture (the silouette of the woman) would be greatly improved if you were to crop out the sun in the top of the picture. I would bring the crop line to just above the womans head. That way you just have the silouette of the woman and the reflection of the sun in the water. The reflection to me looks less harsh. Give it a try and see what you think.

As for the first picture, I agree with JT, the railing is kinda distracting.

Hope to see more posts, etc. :)
