new member with a question

i just took the dive into a digital camera and recieved my rebel xti in the mail just a day ago. i am looking forward to having some fun with the thing but i have one quick question about seting it up to use.

i do a lot of car photography, car show's and other such fun, and really like the odd angles you can achieve with teh camera down low, looking down the body. the angle and perspective is great. while using several other friends camera's, i can set up the back monitor to display what teh lens see's, in real time. however, this one does not, and only shows camera operating specs. i would like to be able to see whats in the viewfinder without having to lie on the ground to do so. is there anyway to do this, or do i have to get the 90* angle view finder attachement?

You can't get "live preview" on any Canon DSLR except the 20Da which is made for astrophotography.

There is new product out that attaches to the viewfind projects the image on to a lcd screen.

I thin Oly DSLR or was it Pentax DSLR has one out that have Live LCD.

The 90° viewfinder attachment (the "Angle Finder C") is the best solution. It also has the ability to magnify the viewfinder image to make precision focusing easier when you are doing things like closeup work or tabletop photography.

I saw one of those Zigviews at my local shop but didn't play with it at all. I think i'll go take a look at it today. I've alse seen them on ebay quite a bit.

Why is that so funny? I often hand hold my long IS lenses including the 100-400 F4.5-5.6L IS.

Never thought of it that way but that's funny. It's actually on a monopod and I was actually reviewing some pictures.

carnt see what the problem is, lay on the floor get covered in mud , people trampling all over you still get great pics tho.

never used anything like the zigiveiws as i carnt say i can justify spending that much on a screen when i can get what i need just by sitting on the floor. prefer to sit on the floor and use the veiw finder

your other option is go get a wide angle lense (which your going to need to shoot car shows anyway) and try the method of shooting from the hip

Yea, I figured that black spec was a monopod... reviewing images explains the pose... just funny though!
