For anyone who is new to digital photography

If you have been reading my other thread, you know that I just bought a Digital Rebel. I have experience using SLR cameras, but the digital world was relatively foreign to me. In my search to learn more, I came across this site. For some on this forum, this site will be useless and "elementary", but for any other "newbies" out there, I think it will be very useful. I came across the link while searching around the Digital Rebel website. It contains over 15 different "lessons" on the uses and techniques of the Digital Rebel. I hope this helps...I know I found it useful.

Been dying to jump into DSLR for a long time...finally I just sent payment on a slightly used 300D with grip, kit lens and also a used "nifty fifty" to get me started. I used to have the canon rebel film version but never got past the full auto mode...

that was years ago before I was taking photography seriously. Now I am highly considering making a career out of it eventually...

Can't wait for it to arrive in the mail!

Well this is shameless pimping, but I think the night photography tutorial link in my signature is pretty good too! Do check it out...lots of examples there and you can easily get a grasp on shutter speed, aperture, ISO, composition etc

This site comes up once in a while but definitely bears repeating. I learned a lot from it as a newbie and occasionally refer back to cross-check on certain things to see whether my experience ties in with what they talk about. I humbly disagree about his choice of lenses, though... but it was acknowledged that every shooter will build their own system with their own preferences, in time, so that's all right. Ask 10 photogs about gear and you get 20 opinions. Sometimes they even agree with each other.

Thanks for helping to spread the word. The tutorial is about due for a slight revision though. The bit about tripods is something I don't really agree with anymore.
