I like that. good clouds, what about a longer shutter speed to soften out the waves?

HGreat shot, i love the pattern of the water trickle back towards the ocean.

Wow, that is excellent! Personally, I am glad that you didn't use a longer shutter speed to soften the waves - I feel that the fact that they are sharp as they are really adds to the intense push/pull of them. Great shot.

Diggin' it fellow east coaster, I like the tones, the dark moody sky, and the patterns in the ground. I'm wondering what a slightly more pano crop would look like, losing a bit of the sky and a bit more off the bottom?

Protium,
great shot! Would you mind sharing your EXIF?

2 Samuel 9:7-8, "So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.” Then he bowed himself, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?”

Thanks for the suggestion, it is good to see there are a few maritimers on here. I played with a few different crops but in the end I decided I didn't want to lose any of the backwash on the bottom.

OCPickle here are the details

Canon 300D with kit lens at 18mm
f/13, 1/400 sec at ISO 200

Thanks for the comments everyone

The mood and colors are nice the only thing that bothers me is the wave is in the center.

This is great. I keep coming back to this image. It works very well. Don't crop, don't loose any of the foreground or clouds, don't soften the waves, keep the colour. The title of the thread says it all. Well done.

Thanks for posting.

Joe
