Took a drive over to North and South Queensferry today as it was a lovely sunny afternoon. Unfortunately, having had everything out of my camera bag the previous day I forgot the QR adaptor for my tripod... Also, couldn't use ND Grad filters as my Cokin holder causes vignetting on the 16-35 lens. Need some Lees....

1. Forth Rail Bridge from North Queensferry

2. Forth Road Bridge from North Queensferry.

Unfortunatly the couple on the left walked right past me and straight into shot. Having acknowledge what a great afternoon for taking photos it was, I waited for 10 minutes, thinking they might therefore walk back quickly to give me a clear shot.....fat chance

3. North Queensferry - can't recall the name of this building.

C&C welcome.

I've notived that the bridge lattice work really didn't come out as sharp as I wanted. The focus points were definitely on the metal work, but appears blurred. I suspect a problem with my 5d as this occurs which ever lens I have attached (16-35 or 24-105). How should I test it and where would I send it to get checked properly (in UK).

Cheers.

It's not how much kit you have, it's what you do with it that counts.......but at least L glass LOOKS good !!:D

Love the clouds in #2.

I much prefer the road bridge as a structure. Shame you can't say that ever in public in Scotland!

Very nice images, I like the blue sky and clouds. The bridges look huge and imposing. My only comment would be that 1. and 4. might be more interesting, dynamic with the horizon closer to the bottom.

I like the framing of # 2 but not the expossure, too dark at the bottom right, the expossure is not equalised outthrough the whole image.

I really like number 1 and 3, though in 3 I might prefer to see the cement area in the center of the shot a bit lighter. In 1 it looks almost like the bridge is angling in towards the middle of the frame, bulging - an interesting alternate take on the standard side profile of a lot of bridge shots.

Bridges are fun and relaxing to photograph. A person could go to the same bridge everyday and find a suprise...
