Thanks for the comment. I had a 300 f/4L on a 1D and 70-200 f/4L on a 20D for these.
On the publication note, I've just discovered that the Oxford Mail have used shots without a)asking, b)giving a credit and c)PAYING!

Therefore pswillies,
According to what I hear in this Forum, an itemized bill would be in order, for payment in full, for services rendered, payable within a specified amount of time, like 30 days... that's all, say nothing else..
Now, from my personal experience, that's all I would send for the time being...send it certified, by express currier and have it signed for...
There after wait for a response, be very polite, don't threaten at any cost at this time...and in the mean time research a little bit about filing a formal legal complaint against them immediately after the 30 days...in small claims court...
Than, right after the 30 days send a strong follow up letter, stating that letters to the Chamber of Commerce, another letter to the Better Business Bureau, also to the Attorney General, and a formal letter to an editorials in other local daily newspapers, will be released immediately if payment isn't made in full...Leave the threat of legal action for the very last...
Otherwise they will do nothing at all, and wait for legal action to take it's course, against their legal department...
They know what they are doing, it obviously, is the business they are in...nothing surprises them at all...but a peaceful resolution costs them the least, and fear of bad publicity seems to work fairly well and costs nothing...threats of legal action, causes everything to stop dead in it's tracks...and takes a long time to resolve...
Good Luck...
Edit; Addendum: I would leave them some wiggle room...and in the very first letter or contact, offer them your services for additional photos...and ask them if they are interested in buying more work from you? This will make it easier to converse...they longer they talk with you, the closer you are to turn around a potentially bad situation, and turn it into a positive one for your and them...maybe, someone screwed up in their office and the manager needs some room to maneuver in and make you a counter offer....
