What would 20D/30D owners need in the upcoming 40D for them be convinced that they need to upgrade? More AF points? Weather sealing? FF? More pixels? Pentaprisms? Better contrast? A 1Ds in 40D clothing?

Better AF would be nice, too. I can't see my upgrade being a 40D - more 5D/equivalent/1 series. Gear Listhttp://www.codastudios.com.au

As long as it has the features I mentioned as well as a magnesium alloy body and a command dial, I'd be a happy camper.

Lens before body. Your cameras have the mag alloy body and command dial. No 8.5 FPS, but it's not needed as much as the actual focal lengths and f/2.8 you can get from the lens i mentioned. And possibly even less if you didn't have rebates. MKII's are going for low $2k's. Go UCLA

Nov 19, 2006 16:32 | #15 Hmm, now that I think about it, the best upgrade would be to buy a kit that gets you a 5D-like camera with a 50L lens for less than $2000. Great shots are like great parking spaces... if you're not quick, it's gone!
