I am looking for some honest critique on some of my images. Some people on DA are not very helpful in giving critique, just "looks nice" etc.

I have links to my images on DA, I have posted the images below. These images were taken with a Canon Powershot A95.

I am just looking for ways to improve my photos. Hope you guys can help.

Regards,
Andy

......hrm...I would love to add some suggestions but they really are very nice :) I've been sitting here trying to find something wrong with them to give you something to work on but I think they turned out fine...

#1 the sun may be just a tad too bright, but it's not really a bad thing at all. it kind of works really nicely actually...for me personally I think I would have liked to see a little more sand at the bottom of the picture,...by that i mean i wish you were turned to the right just a little, so you could see further down the coastline. i think that line, where the tip of the ocean meets the sand is a pretty interesting one. having it go up and to the right a bit more might make the shot a tad more interesting.

#2 is pretty good as well with interesting lines....the only thing i can pick on here is that the footsteps in the sand don't look like footsteps, they look like little sand-mounds...or like mole hills in the sand. i guess maybe making sure, (by angling and positioning just a little bit differently), at least one one those footprints in focus and is clearly a footprint, it may help make this shot perfect.

again, i'm looking for stuff to pick on here cause you asked for it. i had to stare and think about this stuff for a while :)

photos look pretty dang good though, perhaps a little bit noisy? it may be my monitor at work, it's a cheap monitor and is not calibrated correctly....

".....Nice camera! .....How many times zoom?!?"

Thanks for the critique.

#1 there was actually more sand on this photo but it was to the bottom of the picture. It can be seen in the latest Powershot Contest.

#2 Does the blurring of the background work for this image at all?

Again thanks. Also is it ok to post more images in this forum for critique as I have a fair few that I would like some comments on.

I think that if the blur from the second image was on the background rather that on the foreground the image would have worked better. It still has a strong compostion though.

In the first I'd have liked to have as much as possible of the picture in focus.

I'm not too keen on the "sand lumps" as mentioned above, but it's a good composition with great colours.
Not a fan of the blurred background though, but that's just personal preference of course :)
1st one is too bright for me.
