MT59 Member 248 posts Joined May 2008 Location: Alabama More info | Recently visited Old Friends Equine in Georgetown, Kentucky. It is a retirement home for thorougbred race horses. It is a really fun and informative place to visit. Sadly, they recently had a little bout of some type of contagious respiratory issue in a couple of the horses so nobody was allowed to feed them by hand or, essentially, handle them at all (both of which are typically encouraged during a tour). Nevertheless, it provided a great opportunity for some photography. All images with my 7D and 70-200 f/2.8L IS. A Curious Onlooker Got several nice head studies. Wondering when his carrots will arrive. There are always a couple jokers in the crowd. Not sure why, but I just like this one. I think it was the mood of the day. Popcorn Deelites, who was one of the horses used in the filming of Seabiscuit, shows he's still got some speed. (Of all the pictures I took as he ran up the hill, this was a best from a form standpoint, but that blasted run-in in the background...) Special Ring seems to be happy here. 5D2, 7D, 40D (all gripped), 24-105 f/4L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS Mk I, 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 USM, Sigma 8-16mm, Sigma 70-300mm
