tough game. 2-0 loss for the sharks.

1. face-off -- putting the puck where you want it

2. this hit started a fight. was the fist in the face, or not ? Refs said no, you decide...

Nice shots! No kidding on #4. Good thing my son still likes the wooded sticks. I'd be pretty upset if he got a $200+ composite stick crunched like that!

I see you're shooting @ iso 3200. Have you used any noise cleaning software on those, or is the 1d MKIIn just that much better at shooting high ISO compared to a 10D? Your ISO 3200 looks better than my 10D at ISO 1600 before I use Noiseware.

Lacks - thanks.

These kids (15-18 year olds) are rough on everything, and there's a stick break at least once a month. You never see that in my adult league.

No noise reduction on these. I find ISO3200 pretty useable as long as the main subject is well exposed (right half of histogram). The dark areas (spectators, etc) show more grain.

We'll be at the Iceland tournament in virginia beach early february. meet?

Awesome pics....getting the white balance right seems to be a real issue on the ice....and it looks like you nailed it.
I'm really happy to see hockey embraced in N.C. the way you folks have. That said, I'm even happier that O'Neill is back where he belongs! :D

Yeah, I may be up for that. My kid just plays in the house league now, so we don't travel. I work in Virginia Beach so I'm there a lot. We play at Chilled Ponds in Chesapeake. They have tournaments there all the time. Maybe you've been?

Shaky -- thanks. you may not know it from the way the 'Canes played against the habs a few weeks ago, but they did win the cup last year.

Lacks -- Feb 4 & 5 at Iceland. send me a PM if you're interested.

Nice shots. With #2, you can't really tell if this is a bad hit or not. If the ref says it was OK, so be it ;) .

I love hockey. I coach my sons mite team. What a blast teaching the young kids. I haven't had a chance to take any photos yet. I can't wait till I do.

Mike - thanks. you're right about the refs, but these kids are high on testosterone and they don't agree with adults. Mites are less fierce but more fun. enjoy.
