Well, here it is. My duck shot... or whatever this thing is.

On the same day, I was shooting both outside and inside where there was little light... so I had forgotten that I had my ISO up to 800... .

I think it looks okay though... tell me what you guys think! :D

Since pelicans are primarly fish eaters, that "nail" would be his fish hook - as in when he clamps down on a fish, the hook prevents it from getting away.

They are amazing fishermen; where I spent summers as a kid, we watched these birds with some considerable envy.

I would say you got your focus right bang on, and your copy appears to be quite sharp. There was a problem with the first ones, which my dealer said were all recalled for re-calibration. After that, no more problems, so the comments about "poor" copies likely arose from that period.

I'd be interested in what f/stop and focal length etc you used for that picture.

You are going to love that lens.

Nice "duck" shot. I could not get my duck shot yet, but then again, since I am new, I had no idea why we were taking pictures of ducks, but hey, it's all good!

That is a great picture of a pelican. I might have to get one of a seagull? :)

I took many shots of different birds in switzerland, such as: Ducks, Swans, pelican maybe (i think so) and seagulls.
Should i post them? because all the time i post something it is not that much interetsing good for most, so i feel no need to post for few replies like nice shot or good job.
