My wharfedale diamond 9.1 speakers right now are connected to a old school marantz reciever my friend loaned me. It is failing I think though, so I am going to replace it probably with this http://nadelectronics.com …ereo-Integrated-Amplifier (external link) and somehow use this subwoofer with the setup http://www.av123.com …n=subwoofers&product=12.1 (external link) and then just hook up a pair of 595's to the Nad amp.

The NAD C320BEE is a nice integrated amp, which competes pretty closely with the Marantz PM7200 that I have. I belive that the NAD is about $50 US cheaper. Both sound great, although slightly different, and I only chose the Marantz because it comes with Class A (minor benefit) and a preamp for my turntable (significant benefit). If I didn't use a turntable the choice would have been tougher, but frankly either one gives incredible performance for the price.

Yeah, I don't want to spend too much on $400 speakers, haha. Do you know if I could use the sub on the tape output or something, or would I connect my speakers to the sub and sub to amp? Never really worked with a sub before so I'm a little confused.

Tape out isn't a variable output so the sub will stay at whatever volume you set the sub to.
If your amp doesn't have any pre-outs or a sub out, you will want to use the speaker outs and then just connect your speakers to the sub.
you can try to use the "B" speaker out puts and see if it works for you.
I know on one of my older recievers, it didn't like when I hooked my sub to the "B" outputs, I would either get the "A" speakers or "B" speakers (the sub) but not both at teh same time for some odd reason.

Take a look at that. I see some pre-outs I think. I don't know, the sub looks like it has a lot of connections.

I know what your talking about with the speaker a and b. This amp doesn't have it, but the reciever I'm using now from the 70's (marantz 2216b) does have it.

Nope, you can't use those pre-outs, otherwise you won't have no sound from the regular speakers. I didn't realize it was only a stereo amp.
IF your sub has Line-In and full range Line-Out, then you can use the above pre-outs, go from the amp to the sub and back to the amp.

Otherwise, just use the speaker-outs to the sub and then hook your speakers to the sub.

Alright. So I guess I should be good. Guess I have to connect my speakers to the sub. I would still get the full advantages of the stereo amp doing this, right?

Here's a photo of the sub connections. http://www.av123.com …llery/subwoofers_12_6.jpg (external link)
Only line out I see are speaker jacks? I won't lie, I am a bit confused, I haven't worked with speakers before.

BTW, with this particular amp, will I have to disconnect my headphones everytime I don't want to use them to disable sound coming out of them?

Ya, just use the speaker connection, and yes, you still get the full advantage of the NAD amp.

I can't tell if there are any speaker disable buttons on the front so I would think that when you plug in your headphones it will bypass the speakers, so you will need to unplug the phones if you want to hear the speakers.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Now I have my headphone amp on a tape output so I just turn the reciever off and headphone amp on and I'm good.

No, you have to keep the receiver on, just lower the volume to 0. Turning off the NAD most likely won't keep the input you are using active.

Yeah, I'm talking about my marantz I'm using now. When it's off it's just passive.
