I want to get a Canon P&S camera - I'll have about $200 to spend, including shipping... what's the best I can do for that amount of money? (or is there nothing I can do with $200?) Thanks for any help!

- Desiree

That looks pretty good, 5MP, 4x optical zoom.

Check pricegrabber.com for the A530 or A540. I bought both last week for $129 and $165 with free shipping, then get you a card and maybe a small case and your set.

60D, Canon 18-135 IS, Sigma 10-20 hsm, 24-70 2.8 hsm, 70-200 2.8 hsm, 430EX II, and all the other stuff that goes along with it.

I have an A540, and like it--more flexible than the A530, and worth the difference in price. Check around for prices. I bought mine at Best Buy for $200 at the time.

Get the a540. You can attach conversion lenses later. The a530 can't. The a540 has av and tv modes - the a530 only has manual.

If you want to see what the camera can do, the last 100 or so pics on my flickr page are from the a530 - (which would be pretty much the same with the 540).
